Bay continue to remain active

The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (Ockhi) over Lakshadweep area and adjoining southeast Arabian sea moved northwestwards and is very likely to weaken gradually from tomorrow. It is very likely to continue to move northwestwards during next 24 hours and then recurve northeastwards during the subsequent 48 hours and move towards Gujarat coast as weakened system. As the system is moving away from Kerala coast, pull effect rains to Tamil Nadu will be reduced significantly.

Meanwhile, the well marked low pressure area over north Sumatra coast and adjoining south Andaman Sea persists. It is very likely to intensify further and move towards north
Tamil Nadu, South Andhra Pradesh coast during next 3 – 4 days but the track of system still remains uncertain.

Chennai – Broken clouds with sun with a max temp of around 29 C. Isolated rains likely to occur.

Madurai – Overcast conditions will prevail with the day temp around 30 C. Passing showers possible over the city.

Coimbatore – Generally cloudy sky with light showers possible at various times. Max temp will be around 29 C.

Trichy – Period of sun & clouds with intermittent light rains possible. Day high will be around 30 C.

Vellore – Cloudy conditions with day max will be around 28 C.
