Bay LPA’s Tryst with North Coastal Tamil Nadu

The LPA over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast is gradually becoming more marked and is moving ponderously North towards the shores of Northern Andhra Pradesh. As it moves north, it would be in a position to cause heavy rains at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North coastal Tamil Nadu Districts including Chennai & Pondicherry today.

Further north dense to very dense fog is expected at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Generally cloudy sky with chances of intermittent Showers. Expected Temp – maximum of around 28 degrees and a minimum of 24 degrees.

Coimbatore – Generally cloudy sky with a high of 29 degrees and a low of 21 degrees.

Madurai – A cloudy day on cards with a max temp of 31 degrees and a minimum of 23 degrees.

Tiruchi – Generally cloudy sky is expected with a High of 31 degrees and a low of 23 degrees.

Vellore – Generally cloudy sky is expected with moderate chances of precipitation. Temperatures would be with a Max of 29 degrees and a Min of 21 degrees.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NEM Fact & Figure- No 23

The highest NEM rainfall during months October to December was in 2005 with 2166 mm rainfall and the lowest NEM rainfall for the same period is 133 mm in the year 1909.
