The axis of the monsoon is currently stationed near the Himalayan foothills and so are the rains which are currently confined to vast swathes of NE India, Jharkhand, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
In the Southern Peninsula, monsoon rains had shown slight revival especially in Kerala and Coastal Karnataka and will continue for another two days, but an imminent lull is just around the corner.
In Tamil Nadu, isolated Thundershowers continue to popup in interior districts providing some respite after a scathing warm afternoon. Long range forecasts are hinting at increase in rainfall activity in the coming days owing to the evolving synoptic conditions.
Chennai – Very warm day on the cards with max of 37C. Isolated Thundershowers are possible in the city by late afternoon.
Vellore – Sunny and very warm weather will see mercury scale a max of 37C.Good chance of a Thunderstorm in the evening.
Trichy – Hot weather will prevail with highs of 38C. Chances of rains are bleak in the city.
Madurai – Hot weather will continue to dominate with max of 38C. Thundershowers are expected in and around the city by early evening.
Coimbatore – Sunny and pleasant at 32/ 33C and a pleasant night with very less probability for rains.
