Depression in Bay to intensify further and to continue it’s northward journey

The depression in Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify further as it tracks North-North westwards towards North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. Under the influence of this system, isolated heavy spell of rains are likely to occur over North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. Rainfall is also expected to extend north till West Bengal coast. Squally winds of the order of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph are likely to prevail along and off North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts.

Sea conditions are expected to be very rough along and off North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. Fishermen in the vicinity are advised not to venture into the sea. Meanwhile, the Western disturbance lies as a trough around 20 N and is expected to produce snow and wet spells for Himalayan regions and Northern plains respectively in the upcoming days.
