Heat to increase over coastal Tamilnadu as the system over bay of Bengal moves away

Hot weather is set to continue over coastal TN with decrease in thunderstorm activity likely over interiors. As per Models Chennai city is likely to record above normal temperatures. Interiors will also face hot weather. Models forecast suggests that the thunderstorms activity will gradually decrease, as a result there will be drastic reduction in Rainfall.
LPA over Bay of Bengal is very likely to intensify further and head towards North Bay. South West Monsoon (SWM) has further advanced into some parts of Comorin area, parts of Southwest & southeast Bay of Bengal. The northern limit of monsoon (NLM) passes through 5.0°N/ 76.0° E, 8.0°N/83.0°E, 10.0°N/ 86.0°E, 14.0°N/ 92.0°E and 16.0°N/ 95.0°E.  Conditions are becoming favourable for the advancement of SWM into some parts of south Arabian sea, entire Maldives, Comorin area and south Kerala during 30 / 31 May 2017.

Chennai –  Partly cloudy skies with hot weather. Possibility of light rains in Outskirts. Temperatures expected to settle around 39-41°C.

Vellore – Hot day ahead with possibility of showers. Temperatures expected to settle around  39-41°C.
Madurai – Partly cloudy skies. Warm day ahead with slight chance of showers. Temperatures expected to settle around 38-40°C.
Trichy –  Hot day ahead. Possibility of light rains cannot be ruled out. Temperatures expected to settle around 38-40°C.
Coimbatore – A pleasant day ahead. 40% chance of rains. Temperatures expected to settle around 33-35°C.
