Monsoon’s grip on TN set to continue

South West Monsoon has continued to be vigorous over TN during the last week with many places in interiors as well as the coast receiving regular thunderstorms. This trend is expected to continue over the next several days with favorable conditions indicated to increase over the week. Numerical models also predict an upper air trough/cyclone to develop over Southern TN which should further aid in formation of thunderstorms.

Elsewhere across the country, a strengthening trough is expected to increase rainfall across the central part of the country in the next few days as the monsoon low tries to establish across the indo gangetic region.
