Most parts of TN to remain high and dry

Warm and dry weather is expected to continue across most parts of the state with sizzling heat increase as one moves inland. Numerical models indicate a further increase in daytime highs towards mid-week with above normal temperatures, more so in South TN.

Isolated thundershowers are forecasted to continue over southern districts as land-based heating brings instability towards the afternoon.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Warm with a high of about 35 degrees and a low of about 27 degrees.

Vellore – Sunny and hot with a high of about 37 degrees and a low of about 24 degrees.

Madurai – Cloudy and sizzling with a high of about 39 degrees and a low of about 26 degrees. Chance of PM thunderstorms.

Trichy – Mostly cloudy and very warm with a high of about 37 degrees.

Coimbatore – Mostly clear with a high of about 36 degrees and a low of about 24 degrees.
