North coastal TN to experience slightly above normal day highs

The ongoing evening thunderstorms over interior TN is set to continue. North interior regions of the stand a fair chance whilst isolated spells can’t be ruled out over regions like Madurai, Kallakurichi and adjoining areas. North coastal regions of the state will continue to experience sweltering heat and would again rely on the sea breeze front to make its presence felt and bring down the temperatures. Possibilities of Isolated evening thunderstorms/ showers over the said region exist.
Meanwhile, conditions are likely to become favorable for further advancement of South West Monsoon into mist parts of Arabian sea, remaining parts of Maharashtra, some parts of Gujarat, southern parts of MP, Chhatisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal & Sikkim, remaining parts of NE states and most parts of Bay of Bengal in the next 5 or 6 days.

 

City Outlook:

Chennai – A breezy and comfortable morning leaving way to a rather hot and humid day. Day highs expected to peak around 39/40 degrees. Chance of a late evening thunderstorm.

Coimbatore – Plenty of clouds around with stiff breeze blowing across the region. Day high will hover around 32 degrees. On and off Light showers can’t be ruled out.

Madurai – Conditions will remain hot and humid with probable chance of evening thunderstorms. Day max set to peak at 37 degrees.

Trichy – Cloudy with chance of scattered thunderstorms. High of 37 degrees.

Vellore – Partly cloudy with an high of about 39 degrees. Chance of evening thunderstorms exist.
