Tamil Nadu continues to be under the Thunderstorm Radar

The monsoon trough running across the foothills of Himalayas will be seeding torrential heavy rain along the Northeast, Central and Eastern parts of India. The West coast, South interior Karnataka and parts of Rayalaseema could see isolated heavy spells as well.

There is a sea level trough extending from Rayalseema till Gulf of mannar. Under its influence, isolated moderate rains would continue in Tamil Nadu for at least the next couple of days. North Tamil Nadu in particular could receive Isolated heavy spells in a few places. Chennai region has bright chances for heavy thunderstorms during evening /night.

Chennai – Mix of sun and clouds with a high of 34/35 deg. Chances of heavy thundershowers during evening / night.
Vellore – Hot and Sunny with a high of 35/36 deg C, Possibility of thunderstorms during evening /night.
Coimbatore – Cloudy day with a high of 32 deg C with isolated spotty showers through later part of the day continuing until evening/night.
Tiruchirappalli – Hot day with a max of 36/37 deg C with a stray thunderstorm during the evening /night.
Madurai – Cloudy day with a few spells of rain expected in the morning as well as later in the day. Max temperature could hover around 34 deg.
