Air Circulation to bring Rain over interior Tamil Nadu

The severe Tropical Cyclone (TC) Luban over westcentral Arabian sea remains at Category >3 TC with winds close to its centre of around 102 km/h with gales extending up to 130km/h from the centre. The TC is currently moving west, northwest at 5km/h and centre of cyclone is expected to cross Yemen coast by tomorrow afternoon. A less marked low pressure area still persists over West Bengal and adjoining Area. A trough also persists from Odisha to Kerala through Andhra coastal area extending above 3.1 Km above mean sea level. A watch for heavy rain is in force for parts of West Bengal and Bangladesh. A cyclonic circulation over south west Bay of Bengal also persists which is expected to bring some rain over Tamil Nadu today.

Chennai – Partly cloudy and warm. Drizzle or light rain is possible in the evening over many parts of city

Vellore – Cloudy and with temperature highs of 35C and lows of 21C.

Trichy – Light to moderate rain likely with maximum temp of 35C.

Madurai – Couple of thundershower is possible in the afternoon. Day highs of 34C and lows of 24C is expected.

Coimbatore – Warm and partly cloudy with highs of 33C and lows of 22C.
