Currently a Depression over NW Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast which is expected to cross West Bengal-Bangladesh coast as a Deep Depression between Sagar Island & Khepupara by 23rd Oct 2020 afternoon. After this event with MJO started its journey almost staying a month in Maritime continent, conditions looks very favourable for withdrawal of monsoon which is almost 15 days delayed from normal schedule and expected to be rapid.
Weather models Expecting seasonal wind reversal from westerlies to easterlies around October 27 and UAC is expected to influence the weather pattern this month end. This may kick start the Northeast monsoon over coastal regions and widespread thunderstorms over interior TamilNadu. If we go by weather models, it is fair to expect widespread heavy rains over TamilNadu next week and window for Northeast monsoon onset.
