After very active period of North East Monsoon, now it’s time for a much needed break from rains. Due to strengthening of central India anti cyclone, dry winds pushed into Tamil Nadu coast. This is also an indication of MJO suppression phase and due to these conditions, there won’t be any significant rainfall event for next 7-10 days.
MASTER WAVE MJO LOOPING INTO INDIAN OCEAN
At present MJO is in phase 4/5. Due to la Nina suppression over Pacific, MJO can’t complete it’s global circuit by crossing Pacific and conditions favourable for its loop back into Indian Ocean which is indicated by weather models. So that conditions looks favourable for active bay possibly after a week. Overall we can expect one more active spell from this NorthEast Monsoon 2020.
