Active monsoon conditions are observed over Coastal Tamil Nadu, courtesy a trough of low prevailing over Comorin alongside a cyclonic circulation noted over South Tamil Nadu. Besides, the North East Monsoon has also commenced over rest Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and adjoining South Interior Karnataka and, North Kerala yesterday.
Delta and South Tamil Nadu coasts will once again be witness to wet weather marked by intermittent spells of lashing showers. Skies tend to be overcast for most parts in these areas with maximum temperatures pegged at 29C mark. North Coastal Tamil Nadu, on the other hand, will be a mix of clouds and sun with spells of lashing showers at times. Interior Tamil Nadu will remain partly cloudy with chance of showers late in the day. There is a fair probability of a monsoon system approaching Sri Lanka early next week(around Diwali) which might decide the longevity of the monsoon spell over Tamil Nadu.
Benign monsoon showers are forecast for parts of Rayalaseema, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka as well, easing over the weekend.
