Monsoon mayhem to last for 2-3 days in west coast

Final lap of the monsoon is in the cusp of vigorous phase over core monsoon zones of the country, promptly driven by the low pressure area in North Bay. Under this complexion, parts of west coast have been witnessing heavy to very heavy rains, since last 2-3 days, owing to the westerly surge. Forecast is for heavy to very heavy rains to continue in Coastal Karnataka and Goa for a day or two. Parts of South Konkan will also come under the rough weather for next 2-3 days. As the low pressure pushes further west onto mainland, heavy rains would materialise over vast swathes of Central and East Central India over Odisha Madhya Pradesh Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. And this could turn out to be the final grand showdown of this SW Monsoon season.

In Tamilnadu, the weather remained balmy due to active monsoon conditions in South Peninsula. Cloudy to partly cloudy weather prevailed in many places of the state. Similar weather would continue for a day or two before seasonal September weather kicks in to usher the thunderstorms. Until then, ghat areas of Nilgiris Coimbatore will get heavy spells for nect 2-3 days in response to the surge.
