After its weak phase in Indian ocean, the amplitude of MJO slightly increased through its transition into the maritime, eventually the pulse would weaken and die. Typically this transition into maritime yields an enhanced convection in the bay of Bengal. There is a good chance for the monsoon to progress further this week in latitude as the bay of Bengal branch is getting active. As of now a couple of low level circulations persist around the eastern part of the subcontinent, besides there is a potential low formation possibility around this weekend around north bay of Bengal.
Tamil Nadu’s suppressive conditions may wean of a little in the coming days and the moderate heat wave is also likely to abate eventually. There is a possibility of isolated showers and cloudiness later this week across TN including north TN. Also, some popular weather models indicate showers for Chennai towards the weekend.
