The trough of low pressure lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coast extending upto 2.1 km above Mean Sea Level and is expected to bring scattered rainfall activity over Tamil Nadu during the next two days with South Tamil Nadu and adjoining delta areas likely to emerge as major beneficiaries. Apart from Tamil Nadu and adjoining parts of Kerala, weather will remain largely dry over rest parts of peninsular India.
Slight increase in minimum temperatures may be expected during the next two to three days over Tamil Nadu.
Chennai – A partly cloudy to generally cloudy skies, maximum in the range of 30 to 31 degrees and minimum of around 26 degrees. Rain/Thunderstorms may be expected in some areas surrounding the Chennai region.
Madurai – Generally cloudy sky with maximum of around 32 to 33 degrees and a minimum of 25 degrees with the possibility of light to moderate rains.
Trichy – A cloudy day with maximum of around 31 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees with the possibility of rain/thunderstorms.
Coimbatore – Generally cloudy sky with an above normal maximum of around 32 to 33 degrees and a minimum of 24 degrees with light rains.
Vellore – A cloud filled sky with maximum of 32 degrees and a minimum of 25 degrees with light to moderate rains not being ruled out.
