Scattered rains over South Tamil Nadu, drier elsewhere

Seasonal weather of December is not in sight over South Peninsula, courtesy cloud cover and moisture, which lingers over many parts. A weak vortex near Comorin is expected to provide rains in South Tamilnadu for Kanyakumari Tirunelveli Tuticorin Ramanathapuram districts from tonight until Saturday. Rest of the state would see drier weather apart from odd shower or two in coastals. Monsoon would stick around even until year end when official monsoon counter stops.

Up North, cold day conditions would continue over Punjab Haryana Delhi and parts of UP even as dense fog continues to disrupt normal life. Night time temperatures will go below 5C in the coming days as peak winter chill slips in.
