The sequence of violent thunderstorms experienced in western interiors of most parts of north / central TN is expected to continue. Yesterday’s action was fairly widespread, though the storms dissipated as it neared the coast. Though, it is expected to give a cool / drizzly morning for Chennai. The same trend is expected to continue today and the storms reaching in full vigor to coast depends on the local factors en-route. A typical September day for Chennai, that has a huge fan following, seems to be on cards shortly.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely in isolated places over Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Gujarat region, Konkan & Goa and Tamilnadu, Pudhucherry and Karaikal is very likely. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places over Bihar and Jharkhand.
Strong winds (40-50kmph) is likely to prevail over west central and southwest Arabian sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
