The much awaited South West Monsoon trying to break in over God’s own country

The much awaited South West Monsoon has further advanced over parts of South Arabian Sea, Maldives, Comorin Islands, and some more parts of southwest Bay of Bengal. Conditions are favorable for further advancement and onset of SWM over Kerala in the next 24 hours.

The India Met Department (IMD) has declared a series of ‘orange’ and ‘yellow’ alerts for different parts of Kerala for Saturday, Sunday and Monday (June 9 and 10), indicating the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain ahead of monsoon onset.

‘Orange’ alert is valid on Sunday for southern districts of Kollam and Alappuzha, with isolated heavy to very heavy rain (between 11.5 cm and 20 cm), a special bulletin issued by the local office of the IMD said.
