Tamilnadu and Kerala are likely to witness fairly widespread rain / thundershowers with heavy / very heavy rains at isolated places during next 4-5 days. As reported yesterday, the low pressure area is very likely to develop over Southeast Arabian sea around 6th October and is expected to intensify into a depression subsequently. Isolated scattered thundershowers is also likely over parts of Maharastra during next 3 days. The withdrawal line of South West Monsoon (SWM) continues to pass through Bahraidh, Nowgong, Bhopal, Indore, Bharuch, Varaval latitude 21.0°N/long. 65.0°E and lat. 21.0°N/ long. 60.0°E. Conditions are favorable for further withdrawal of SWM from remaining parts of East Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Madhyapradesh, Gujarat and North Arabian sea and some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh during next 48 hours.
Chennai – Warm and uncomfortably humid conditions to prevail with chance of a shower in early morning. Temperatures will settle at 34/26C.
Vellore – Very warm and sunny with very less chance of rains. Day time highs will settle for 35C. Night will be comfortable at 25C.
Trichy – Very warm and clear skies will prevail with max of 36C and min of 26C.
Madurai – Comfortable day with partly cloudy skies and chance of a shower late. Day high of 34C and lows of 24C is forecast.
Coimbatore – Slightly warm day with a chance of a thundershower late. Mercury will settle at 33/23C.
